Days 166-168: November 13-15, 2012

The first of two consecutive nights of pizza this week after spending most of the day preparing for the presentation on my note topic for Law and Economics class. Although I have not gotten to any actual writing yet, having to present was a great way to get started reviewing some of my research, and constructing a Power Point and a presentation is going to end up being a very helpful outline for the actual paper once I get working on it. Tonight's pizza came from Pizza X, as I felt like having a change of pace from the usual Aver's. One of the cool things about Pizza X is the Tootsie Rolls you get with every pizza order.

The following evening, Team Avalon and Team Intimidation Cartwheel enjoyed a collective team dinner prior to the last league game of the fall semester season. We ate at our favorite local pizza place, Mother Bear's of course, and ordered Megan and I's signature pizza, the Pride of Palermo with pepperoni substituted for sausage. Afterwards, we went to Dunnkirk, where we saw the pizzas Charles, Josh, and Dan ordered from their new kitchen, as shown in Wednesday's picture of the day. These giant pizzas come for only $7 with your choice of unlimited toppings. Looks like Dunnkirk taking over Uncle D's downstairs to add a kitchen wasn't the worst idea after all.

Thursday evening we had the Fall Semester IJGLS Awards Banquet where I unexpectedly hauled in one of the outstanding associates awards. Anita pulled in another one of the four, rounding out a very successful night for Team Avalon! Certainly good to have some success in light of our 2-7 record this season—but as we keep telling everyone, we are the best 2-7 team in league history! (As evidenced by being the "1" in the #1 team's 18-1 season record.) Really cool to get an awesome Starbucks gift card from the journal—something that is definitely going to help me finish my last cite-checking assignment of the semester!
