Saturday was a day for college football as the #2 Florida Gators battled it out in the World's Largest Outdoor Cocktail Party for the SEC East title. Unfortunately, Florida executed poorly on offense and made too many mistakes to stay ahead of Georgia. The team is still looking good at this point, but needs to make several improvements in key areas in order to return to a championship level. The personnel and coaching are definitely there though, so it will only take time and experience.
The Steelers' dreadful throwback uniforms made their debut Sunday against the Redskins. Fortunately, the Redskins seemed so terrified to be going against a group of ex-cons in their prison stripes that they didn't notice it was the regular Steelers and let us run all over them. The running game is finally back on track behind former Georgia Tech star Jonathan Dwyer, and with Haley's west coast style keeping Big Ben off the turf, it looks like things might be back to running smooth in Pittsburgh.
A nice sunset Monday evening behind the Sample Gates. The wind has really started to pick up today as you can feel the effects of Hurricane Sandy from the east coast all the way here in the middle of Indiana. The super storm has already closed the federal government and the stock markets for two days, as well as forced New York-based primetime television into reruns across the country. It looks like it is going to be a pretty disruptive storm for the eastern seaboard, hopefully everyone stays safe over there!
